Guide to Cadillac EVs

If you’re currently shopping for a car, you’ve probably seen more and more dealerships with electric vehicles (EVs) for sale. But what makes an EV different from a gas-powered car? What kinds of features does an EV have? And is it easy to purchase one?

Electric vehicles are becoming increasingly common these days. In fact, nearly every major brand has at least one EV on the market right now. That includes Cadillac, which has one currently available for purchase, one available for preorder, and two more soon to be released.

Let’s go over the basics of each model to help you determine which one of them is the right vehicle for you.

Cadillac’s Current Electric Vehicle Lineup

There are currently four current and future Cadillac EVs:

  • Cadillac LYRIQ
  • Cadillac OPTIQ
  • Cadillac Escalade IQ
  • Cadillac CELESTIQ

All four Cadillac EVs are all built off the GM Ultium Battery Platform. This modular battery tech can be scaled up or down depending on the size of the vehicle. The platform allows for impressive range and incredibly quick DC fast charging.

Beyond their battery and charging systems, though, these Cadillac EVs have quite a few differences. Let’s go over each one.

2024 LYRIQ

This was the first mass-produced electric vehicle from Caddy, first introduced over a year ago as a 2023 model. The 2024 LYRIQ has two motor options: single motor RWD and dual motor AWD. The single motor option can drive up to 314 miles on a fully charged battery, while the dual motor option can drive up to 307 miles. When optioned with all-wheel drive, it puts out an estimated 500 horsepower.

It’s also available in three trim levels: the LYRIQ Tech, which features intuitive technology to make your drive as smooth and convenient as possible; the LYRIQ Sport, which emphasizes power and presence, so it has a slightly stronger build than the others; and the LYRIQ Luxury, which has the most extra features to offer the most luxurious drive of the three models.

Regardless of which version you choose, it comes with a massive 33-inch 9k resolution LED infotainment display with Google built-in.

2025 OPTIQ

The 2025 OPTIQ is set to be the most affordable electric Cadillac when sales officially open up later in 2024. Only one powertrain is available: a dual motor AWD option, which reaches roughly 300 miles on a fully charged battery. It also cranks out an estimated 300 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, making it a force to be reckoned with.

Four trims will be available in two unique styles: Luxury 1, Luxury 2, Sport 1, and Sport 2.

The Luxury 1 and Sport 1 both come with an extensive list of standard features, including Super Cruise driver assistance, 19-speaker AKG Studio sound system, and the 33-inch display with Google built-in. The Luxury 2 and Sport 2 trims throw in some extra goodies like ventilated and lumbar massaging front seats and a digital head-up display.

The OPTIQ is set to go into production later this fall. If you want to be kept in the loop about preordering a new Cadillac OPTIQ, contact us at Cadillac Pensacola.

2025 Escalade IQ

2025 Escalade IQ

The Cadillac Escalade is one of the most revered full-size SUVs on the market, which means the all-electric Escalade IQ has some big shoes to fill.

Much like the gas-powered version, the Escalade IQ boasts 3 rows of seating. Because it’s significantly bigger than other Cadillac EVs, the Escalade IQ sports a much larger battery pack, which allows it to travel an estimated 460 miles on a single charge. It’s also projected to able to recoup about 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charge time, which makes it the perfect luxury EV for a road trip.

It’s also insanely powerful. Cadillac estimates that it’ll have 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque, and be able to do a zero-to-sixty run in less than 5 seconds when Velocity Max is engaged.

Like the OPTIQ, the Escalade IQ has four available trims, also called Luxury 1, Luxury 2, Sport 1, and Sport 2. No matter which one you end up selecting, the Escalade IQ promises to deliver one of the most tech-forward experiences of any vehicle ever created. It comes standard with Google built-in, Super Cruise, a laundry list of comfort and convenience features, and a gargantuan pillar-to-pillar 55-inch LED display.

Cadillac CELESTIQ

The Cadillac CELESTIQ is an electric SUV, but it’s quite different from the other three electric Cadillac SUVs listed here.

Instead of having a preset selection of available trims and specific standard features, the CELESTIQ is commissioned as a one-of-a-kind bespoke Cadillac. Like other hyper luxury brands, it’s completely customizable, and new models will only be available by inquiry directly through the manufacturer or dealership.

Cadillac provides design inspirations for this vehicle, but what your CELESTIQ ends up looking like is ultimately up to you.
